Michilis were approached by long term client N.E.T Modular to find a solution in replacing / repairing sections of their hardstand and roadway areas.
Michilis carried out further geo-technical investigation and designed engineered a pavement suitable to withstand the dynamic loading's (delivery trucks, forklifts, modular lifter) imposed on the pavement daily.
The existing (original) concrete slab was placed directly on a highly reactive clay and poured recklessly showing evidence of the reinforcing mesh at the base of the slab and vast changing thicknesses to the slab.
Our proposal to design & construct a new pavement was accepted by our Client to remove and dispose of the original concrete slab and sub base and grade levels and replace with 1 x 150mm layer of 40mm DGS, 1x layer of 3% stabilised 20mm DGB road base.
The wearing course was 200mm thick N40 concrete, double SL92 reinforced mesh.
We completed approximately 1500m2 of pavement in planned stages to eliminate and reduce impact on our clients operation.
